Day By Day Itinerary

DAY 1 UK – CUSCO

Fly to Cusco

DAY 2 CUSCO

On arrival check in at hotel Casa Andina Private collection. Afternoon is free for your own leisure and other activities.

DAY 3 CUSCO – SACRED VALLEY – CUSCO (B/D)

Urubamba River in peruEnjoy this fantastic experience in the Sacred Valley, which undoubtedly was a key area for Inca settlements. We start this full day tour with a visit to the market at Pisac Town, where you can buy typical Peruvian handicrafts at the best prices. After lunch you will tour the remarkable Inca village and fortress of Ollantaytambo . A very steep stone staircase leads into the fortress. Across an esplanade there is a Temple with 10 niches, and beside it a block of partially unworked stones. Beyond another esplanade, stand six huge rectangular monoliths (weighing approximately 50 tons) from the Temple of the Sun. Vestiges of rooms are seen on top, and on the other side of the hill a four storey building can be seen, which was either a military school or a prison. During the afternoon we visit the town of Chinchero . This place lies on the foundations of animportant Inca site built in the late 1400s.

DAY 4 CUSCO – MACHU PICCHU – CUSCO (B/D)

Mysterious city Machu PicchuStart the day by rising early and enjoying a scenic train tide to the Peruvian town of Aguas Calientes. Transfer to a bus for a brief journey to the much-visited archaeological site of Machu Picchu.Built at the height of the Inca Empire, it is widely believed that this place was built to serve as an estate for the Inca emperor Pachacutec. Learn about the historical background of this impressive site from your guide while you spend the morning walking around the ruins. After the tour you will have free time to explore the complex at your own pace. By 4pm it’s time to make the return journey back to the bright lights of Cusco. Hop on the train and ride back to the city, away from the magnetic heritage of mighty Machu Picchu.

DAY 5 CUSCO (B/D)

Talk about starting the morning on top of the world! On this day tour you’ll visit key Incan highlights to experience Cusco at the grassroots level. Start at the vibrant San Pedro local market. Then head out of town to explore two major Inca sites, Sacsayhuaman and Q’enqo. Practice your language skills and bargain for snacks. Visit the amazing Sacsayhuaman & Q’enqo Enjoy breathtaking views over Cusco. Descend back to Cusco exploring charming Inca streets

DAY 6 CUSCO – PUNO (B/L/D)

Andean Explorer “Between the Pleasure & the Legend” Enjoy the mysticism offered by the beautiful Peruvian Andean landscape aboard on our luxury train. Riding the Andean Explorer is a unique experience, a journey between mountains and clouds, and between mountains and highlands. Ten hour train journey, which ends at the majestic Lake Titicaca and in whose path, the traveler will see the changing landscapes among mountains, rolling plains, and the various weather of the area. The Andean Explorer involves you in an exquisitely area decorated with subtle, delicate style of the great Pullman trains of the twenties. It includes dining cars and a car-bar outdoor observatory. DAY 7 31 PUNO (B/L/D)

Traditional boats in the floating and tourist Islands of lakeEnjoy this amazing experience in the Lake Titicaca, including a visit to floating islands of the Uros and Taquile Island.The Islands of the Uros are located in the east of the city of Puno. These islands are made of ‘totora’ reeds, rising six metres above water level. They are anchored by logs and connected to each other by ropes. They still keep the ancient traditions and community living, with their activities being fishing and handicrafts. We continue to Taquile Island which has two characteristics:the spectacular views from its hills, and its standing as a first rate textile centre. The local people (Taquilenos) live on their textile activities. This is noticeable as the men, walking in their rubber sandals (‘ojotas’ in Quechua), still wear black trousers, white flannel shirts and beautiful, finely woven chumpis (belts), with their heads covered by finely knitted ‘chullos’ (caps with ear flaps). This is an ancient civilization that continues living the traditions and laws of the Incas.

DAY 8 PUNO – LIMA (B/D)

After breakfast transfer to Juliaca airport to board your flight to Lima. On arrival check in at hotel Casa Andina private collection.

DAY 9 LIMA (B/D)

The Huaca PucllanaAfter breakfast take half day excursion of Colonial and Modern Lima Tour. This excursion provides a perfect combination of pre-Hispanic, colonial and modern Lima, that will enable you to become acquainted with Lima’s complete history. This tour will take you to Huaca Pucllana, a magnificent ceremonial and administrative site, built in the 4th century AD, and considered by the Incas as aupallaqta, a ‘sacred village’. You will see the Historical Centre: Paseo de la Republica, San Martin Square, Government Palace. We also visit the Museum of the Banco Central de Reserva, a beautiful building hosting Peru’s treasures. The tour continues through modern Lima: El Olivar in San Isidro, Miraflores’ Central Park and Larco Mar.

DAY 10 LIMA – QUITO (B)

Fly to Quito . On arrival Quito you will be welcomed and transferred to hotel Jw Marriott .

DAY 11 QUITO (B)

Colonial City Tour & Middle of the World: bustling streets and squares of the largest historical old town in the Americas, a multiethnic, artistic and cultural heritage destination.Visit the “Middle of the world” situated at 0º0’0” latitude.

DAY 12 OTAVALO MARKET & SURROUNDINGS (B)

otavalo market ecuadorVisit the well-known indigenous market in Otavalo for an arts and crafts shopping adventure. Visit Peguche known for its weavers, visit a wind instruments workshop, Cotacachi known for the manufacture of leather goods, Cuicocha crater lake. Back to Quito.

DAY 13 QUITO – SAN CRISTOBAL ISLAND (B/D)

Fly to San Cristobal Island in the Galapagos Islands. On arrival you will be welcomed and transferred to the pier to board the M/V Galapagos Legend .The archipelago is situated at approximately 600 miles off the Ecuadorian mainland, on the Pacific Ocean. Travel time is under 3 hours. San Cristobal is the easternmost island in the Galapagos Archipelago; it’s also one of the oldest islands, geologically speaking.

DAY 14 ESPANOLA(B/L/D)

Galapagosam. Gardner Bay, Gardner & Osborn Islets (Española)
Spot Galapagos hawks, American oyster catchers, Galapagos doves, hood mockingbirds, 3 species of Darwin finches, yellow Warblers, lava lizards, and marine iguanas.

pm. Suárez Point (Española)
Explore volcanic formations and a riveting wildlife. Besides the sea lion colonies, this is a very important site for bird watching. A major highlight is their mating season, from May through December.

DAY 15 FLOREANA (B/L/D)

Galapagos Islandsam. Post Office (Floreana)
Continue the tradition by placing unstamped postcards inside the barrel which reach their destinations for free. Observe the mocking bird of Galapagos, some species of Darwin’s finches, yellow Warblers, and lava lizards.

pm. Cormorant Point (Floreana)
It features endemic plants such as Scalesia villosa, Galapagos daisies, white sand black mangrove, and holy stick. Spot sea turtles, Blue-footed Boobies and small reef sharks floating along the shoreline in search of food.

DAY 16 – SANTA CRUZ (B/L/D)

Observe numerous endemic plants, 7 subspecies of Darwin’s finches, Vermillion Flycatcher. Impressive view of Baltra, Santiago, Isabela, Santa Fé, Daphne Islands.

pm. Charles Darwin Research Station (Santa Cruz)
Observe the giant tortoises that are part of the reproduction program and the world’s most famous tortoise, Lonesome George, the last surviving specimen of his species.

DAY 17 SANTA CRUZ – DAPHNE – BALTRA – GUAYAQUIL – LONDON (B/)

Nazca BoobiesVolcanic tuff cone, formed by successive explosions produced by the mixture of lava and water. Observe Darwin’s finches, Blue-footed Boobies, Nazca Boobies, Red-billed Tropicbirds, Swallow-tailed Gulls, Brown Noddies.Then transfer to Baltra airport to board your flight to back home
