Thanks to its location in the tropical zone of the southern hemisphere, French Polynesia enjoys warm temperatures throughout the year. The winter is from May to October and has temperatures of up-to the mid 30’s and low humidity – making it the perfect time for travel here – especially in the driest months of July and August – though be aware that this is the high season for travel there. The summer season (November – April) however is slightly warmer though it’s also much rainier than the winter seasons – though not enough to ruin a holiday there, as the rains can be quite refreshing at times – humidity is at it’s highest during the summer season.
Both seasons can get a little windy which can provide a pleasant refrain from the heat of the sun but the islands of the French Polynesia very rarely suffer from tropical storms outside of the El Niño years, and when storms do hit – it’s generally between November and March.
