May to October is the best time to go to Peru during the dry season. In this period, you get your days of sun, blue cloudless skies, and cool comfortable nights. If you are planning treks like the Inca Trail or travelling to the highlands like Machu Picchu and Cusco, then it is the best time to visit Peru. Added, this is the high season; it's important to book early to get your desired tours and accommodations.

From November to April, Peru experiences its rainy season, with January and February being the wettest months. While travel during this period means more frequent showers, it also brings lush green landscapes, fewer crowds, and opportunities for lower rates on flights and hotels. For many, it can still be the best time to travel to Peru if you're seeking a quieter and more budget-friendly experience.

In the Amazon region, the rain is more prevalent between November and March. Still, this shouldn’t deter visitors—the rainforest remains rich with wildlife, and rainfall often comes in short bursts, leaving plenty of time for exploration.
