Punakha Dzong: This building is often dubbed the most magnificent in Bhutan. It is located at the lovely meeting point of the Pho Chhu and Mo Chhu rivers.
Chimi Lhakhang: The well-known "Fertility Temple" is dedicated to the Divine Madman and can be accessed by a short walk through rice paddies.
Suspension Bridge: One of the longest in the country, it is covered in prayer flags and has amazing views of the valley.
Gangtey / Phobjikha Valley (The Glacial Valley):
Gangtey Monastery: A beautiful 17th-century monastery on a hill that looks out over the whole valley plain.
Gangtey Nature Trail: A 2-hour walk through pine forests and areas where cranes nest.
Black-Necked Crane Center: Find out about the unique, holy birds that come here from Tibet every winter (November to February).
Paro (The Holy Valley):
Tiger's Nest (Paro Taktsang): This is Bhutan's most famous place. It's a monastery that "clings" to a cliffside 900 meters above the valley.
Rinpung Dzong: A huge fortress-monastery that was in the movie Little Buddha.
Kyichu Lhakhang is one of the oldest and most important shrines in the Kingdom. It was built in the 7th century.
National Museum (Ta Dzong): This museum is in an old watchtower and displays the country's rich history and Buddhist art.
