Begin in the wonderfully vibrant (and huge) Mexico City with a visit to the insightful Museum of Anthropology for an unbeatable introduction to Mexican culture. Take a few days here to see the canals and colourful boats of Xochimilco as well as the delightfully picturesque streets of Coyoacàn. Now head south east and make a stop in Puebla before stopping in Oaxaca to explore the fabulous Unesco-listed Oaxaca city and Tehuantepec. Afterwards continue onwards to Palenque to see the stunning 3rd century ruins before taking a tour of the striking colonial architecture of Mérida the capital of the Yucatan.
