Late afternoons are the best time to catch spectacular sunsets over the ocean while enjoying a laid-back meal or drink.
• Catch the Fremantle line train from Perth Station to Cottesloe Station and take a pleasant 600-metre walk straight to the sand.
• Wear sunscreen, a hat and a light jacket as afternoon sea breezes (known as the “Fremantle Doctor”) often cool down the coast.
