The Island of Borneo Sarawak and Sabah
Do a little island hopping.
There are plenty to choose from and lots to do once you arrive. If you just want to claim a space on the beach and top up your tan, then that’s fine - but if the mood takes you, then head into the water to dive with hammerhead sharks, bathe in pools of thick volcanic mud, and take a stroll to see if you can spot the islands’ reptilian inhabitants. Many of the islands of note are close to Sabah Island, and these include the exquisite Sipadan - a paradise of simplicity and astounding natural beauty, the tiny tropical coral-fringed Lankayan Island, and the otherworldly Mataking Island, which is a favourite amongst honeymooners.
