If you’ve spent anytime at all in America or Britain then you’ll undoubtedly feel quite at home in Canada, especially in the English speaking majority of the country, whose formalities are generally much the same as throughout the major English speaking regions of the world. Generally speaking, Canadians are a little more reserved and polite than Americans and don’t take too kindly to being compared to Americans – the two are simply not the same. It’s like comparing the Italians with the French. Remember that.
Much like in America however, tipping is a regularity. As a guideline, it’s customary to tipapproximately 15-20% on the total bill before tax, or a little less or more if you receive poor or exceptional service.
