Costa Rica is one of the best places on the planet to see humpback whales. The whales migrate to the Paciļ¬c coast from both North America and Antarctica to escape the winters and as such are in Costa Rican waters for 8 months of the year. To see them, take a boat from the Marino Ballena National Park or the Golfo Dulce in the southwest of Costa Rica.
