Fly to San Jose and check in at hotel Radisson San Jose

We will travel to the beautiful Poás Volcano National Park area, passing through mountains and cattle farms before reaching the impressive volcano. Take a short walk to the crater viewpoint to see its stunning lagoon, weather permitting depending on natural conditions. Visit the beautiful La Paz Waterfall, a 37-meter-high waterfall ideal for photos and nature appreciation. End the day at an authentic coffee farm.

We head to the Northern Plains region, home to the impressive Arenal Volcano, one of the country’s natural wonders. Along the way to La Fortuna, at the base of the volcano, pass agricultural plantations, ornamental nurseries, and cattle farms. Upon arrival, check in at Los Lagos Hotel, Spa & Resort and enjoy the surrounding

Today we hike the Arenal Hanging Bridges with a naturalist guide on a half-day rainforest exploration. This conservation project features a network of solid trails and suspended bridges designed to showcase Costa Rica’s rich biodiversity.Within nearly 370 acres of protected rainforest, observe birds, mammals, and lush tropical
vegetation across multiple forest layers. Walk through 8 fixed bridges and 6 hanging bridges, experiencing the canopy and canyon ecosystems up close. transfer about an hour to an Indigenous reservation in the Northern Plains of Costa Rica, home to the Maleku communities of El Sol, Tonjibe, and Margarita. Visit the Tonjibe
Indigenous Community to meet a local family and learn how they preserve their traditions while adapting to modern life. Witness a cultural ritual performance that highlights the Maleku language, dances, and enduring heritage.

Today we hike the Lava Flow 2010 Trail in the rainforest at the foot of Arenal Volcano, where you’ll experience rich biodiversity and stunning volcanic landscapes. Reach an elevation of about 620 meters to view ancient lava flows and take in panoramic views of the volcano and Lake Arenal. In the afternoon, relax at the famous Tabacón Hot Springs, enjoying naturally heated pools surrounded by tropical gardens. Unwind with a meal at the poolside restaurant while admiring the volcanic scenery, especially beautiful
at sunset or under a clear night sky.

After breakfast, you will be transferred to Guanacaste, located northwest of San José and facing the Pacific Ocean. Upon arrival, check in at Riu Guanacaste. Enjoy time to relax and take in the beachfront surroundings of this tropical resort.

Enjoy a half-day jungle river cruise through Palo Verde National Park, one of Central America’s most important
wetland ecosystems. Travel along the Tempisque River by pontoon boat, passing mangroves, marshlands, and open savannah landscapes. Spot abundant wildlife including crocodiles, monkeys, deer, iguanas, and a wide variety of migratory and resident birds such as roseate spoonbills and herons.Continue exploring rich habitats where wildlife thrives in one of Costa Rica’s most diverse and rewarding nature reserves.

Enjoy a 2-hour hike in Rincón de la Vieja National Park, exploring an active volcanic landscape. Observe bubbling mud pots, steaming fumaroles, sulfur lagoons, and mini-volcano formations that showcase the geothermal energy of the region. Discover rich biodiversity, including over 300 bird species such as the quetzal, along with monkeys, sloths, coatis, and other native wildlife.
