The Philippines are hot and humid throughout the year, and the weather patterns can be defined as the southwest monsoon from May to October and the northeast monsoon from November to May. This means that for the majority of the country the dry season is from November to May, and the wet season falls between July and October. This, however, is not true for areas such as Mindanao and Southern Leyte, which generally experience their rainy season between December and March.
Typhoons are common in the area between June and November – though they strike in Luzon and the Visayas Islands most commonly. The best time to visit really depends on your personal preference, though we would suggest avoiding the Philippines around Easter (Holy Week) when hotel prices quite literally triple in price. For those seeking the best weather – then January to May would be the most appealing time to go – though beware – this is also the peak time for tourism in the country. However, the crowds are generally confined to the most popular beaches.

The islands are popular in February and it is usually warm and mostly dry. It is perfect for combining beach holidays with culture and outdoor activities.
Many places are warm and sunny, making March a good time for beach holidays and island adventures. As the high season continues, popular beach spots can get more crowded.
April is a hot and dry month in most parts of the Philippines. It is good for water activities and beaches but temperatures and numbers of visitors can be high around Holy Week.
May is still hot, but in some places the rain starts to fall. It can still be a good month for a beach holiday, especially in the first half of the month.
It is now June, and most of the country is entering the wetter period. The rain will come more often, but there will still be plenty of sun between showers.
July is usually wetter and more humid, particularly in regions influenced by the southwest monsoon. Watch for possible rain showers and be ready to reschedule outdoor events.
August is the month of most rain in most places. You can still travel but the rain and tropical weather may affect your plans for outdoor activities and island hopping.
It is still in the wet season, so there is a higher risk of heavy rainfall and tropical storms. It's generally less busy than the peak travel months.

November is a month of change with many places becoming drier and better for sightseeing and beach holidays. It can be a great time to visit before the busier travel season kicks off.
