The world’s most northern capital fuses colourful buildings and intriguing design with interesting museums, a surprisingly eclectic restaurant and nightlife scene, and a wonderfully inviting population. The city, though tiny by international standards, has plenty for the culturally curious to do, from exhibitions such as the Viking Longhouse and the National Museum, to galleries such as the National Gallery and the Reykjavik Art Museum, to a great collection of cafes, restaurants, and bars.
